Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Kosmala represented Australia at twelve Paralympics from 1972 to 2016, and won thirteen medals, nine of them Gold.

Best known for her rifle shooting, Libby also won Bronze in swimming at the 1972 Paralympic Games in Heidelberg. She would go on to win Gold in shooting in 1976, 1980, 1984 (4 Gold Medals), 1988 (3 Gold Medals) with Silvers in 1980 (2 Silvers) and 1988.

Libby was Australia’s oldest representative at the 2008 Beijing Games, 2012 London Games and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.

At the 1968 Tel Aviv Paralympics, Libby was Secretary at the Games and at the 1996 Atlanta Games was given the honour of being the Australian flag bearer.
