The South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) is looking for a new General Manager – Commercial. This role will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to drive revenue, engage fans, enhancing cricket fans’ experience, maximising attendance, and growing returns to SACA.

Given the exciting opportunities for commercial growth that lay ahead for SACA, it is imperative that we have a strong leader sitting across our core functions of membership, partners, events, marketing and communications.

Importantly, as a key member of the SACA Executive Team, we will be looking for a leader who can drive a positive culture of high performance, accountability, collaboration and foster people development.



The key responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Secure SACAs financial future by executing a strategy to achieve growth across key customer facing divisions including:

o SACA Membership

o BBL & the Adelaide Strikers

o Ticket sales

o Sponsorship

o New revenue opportunities

  • Set and oversee the delivery of SACA’s customer-facing and corporate communications and marketing activities to engage fans.
  • Lead the development of exceptional event offerings to grow our fanbase, maximise attendance and generate revenue.



About you

  • You will have demonstrated experience leading or contributing to successful large-scale member or customer driven organisations and their commercial growth.
  • You can demonstrate experience and capability in achieving revenue growth.
  • You will be a people person with the ability to demonstrate experience building strong relationships and high performing teams.
  • You will be collaborative and can bring teams on a journey to work towards shared goals.
  • You are skilled at solving problems as they arise on the job. You are calm and pragmatic and able to drive deadlines in a changing environment.
  • You are skilled at teaching and mentoring direct reports and broader teams. You have experience driving career conversations and coaching your managers to develop their staff.
  • You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or can obtain one.

It would also be great if you have…

  • Knowledge of or passion for elite sporting organisations.

The SACA is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia’s favorite sport – a sport for all Australian’s. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level.



The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the West End Redbacks, Scorpions and Adelaide Strikers women’s and men’s teams.
