Sandy is a dual Olympian who represented Australia from 1981 to 1988, accruing 85 caps and Captain of the Hockeyroos from 1985 to 1986.

Sandy’s finest moment came in 1988 when she was a member of the Hockeyroos that won Australia’s first ever Hockey Olympic Gold Medal.

After retiring in 1989, Sandy received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the Sport of Hockey. Sandy’s involvement continued as National Head Selector from 1993-2000 when the Hockeyroos won Gold Medals at the 1996 Barcelona and 2000 Sydney Olympics. She is currently a National Junior Selector and Team Manager.
