Regarded as one of the best centre court players in the modern era, the Thunderbirds Captain made her Test debut in 2004. She was a key part of the 2007 World Cup Gold Medal side and was elevated to the role of Vice-Captain in 2008. In 2011 she captained the National Team to successive World Cup Gold Medals beating the Silver Ferns in over-time, 58-57.

She was the inaugural Captain of the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the ANZ Championship, holding that position for six years, leading the team to two titles in 2010 and 2013.

Natalie was twice named the Australian ANZ Championship Player of the Year in 2009 and 2010.
