Michelle den Dekker made her Australian debut in 1985 and went on to play 84 Test Matches in the “Green and Gold”, Captaining Australia from 1988 -1995.

She had a 92 per cent winning rate as Captain winning 65 of 71 games, winning two World Championships as Captain (1991 & 1995) and led Australia to Commonwealth Games Gold in 1990.

Michelle was also awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1992, the SA Great Award for services to sport in South Australia in 1993, inducted into the Australian Netball Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2020.

Den Dekker continues to be involved in the game coaching athletes in the Netball Australia Performance pathways through the Diamonds.
