Les’ cricket career spanned multiple decades, during which he achieved numerous accolades and left an indelible mark on the sport. He represented South Australia in Sheffield Shield cricket from 1953 to 1971, captaining the team for several seasons. Les also played for Australia in 19 Test matches between 1956 and 1963.
After retirement, he remained involved in cricket as a coach and administrator, contributing significantly to the development of young cricketers in South Australia.
