Katie Allen is a celebrated Australian field hockey player and coach, renowned for her achievements with the Hockeyroos. She won a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and secured gold at two World Cups (1994 and 1998) and the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

Allen also claimed three Champions Trophy gold medals (1995, 1997, and 2003) and played a key role in the SA Suns’ championship win in the Australian Hockey League in 1995.After her playing career, Allen transitioned to coaching, serving as Head Coach of the Victorian Institute of Sport Hockey Program from 2009 to 2016. She was also an assistant coach for the Australian Women’s Junior Team and made history as the first woman to coach a Men’s Premier League team in Victoria.

Recognized as co-winner of the Women’s FIH Player of the Year in 2005, Allen was named in the Australian Women’s Team of the Century in 2013. A perpetual shield for Hockey SA’s U15 Girls State Junior Zone Championship is named in her honor, reflecting her lasting impact on the sport.
