Jill Kennare captained the Australian national women’s cricket team on 4 occasions. She was in the Guinness book of records for scoring 2 consecutive 100’s for Australia, the first Australian (man or woman) to do so. In 1985, Jill hit the winning run in the third and final match of the 1984-1985 Women’s Ashes, which was Australia’s first series win against England since 1949.

Also against England in 1985, Jill and Denise Emerson hit a record partnership for Australia of 176 runs. A record was not beaten until 2001.

Jill also played Lacrosse for South Australia and Australia. She was Vice Captain of SA in 1979 and a member of the Australian team in 1980 and 1981 when Australia defeated the US for its first win as a country.
