Jack Young

Jack Young is a 9 time South Australian State Solo Speedway Champion (between 1948-1964). He was also World Solo Speedway Champion in 1951 and 1952.

He won the Scottish Riders Championship in 1949, 50 and 51 as well as the British Match Race Championship 1952, 53 and 55.

In 1953 and 54, he was the London Riders’ Champion and in 1955 the British Club Champion. He was also the Tom Farndon Memorial Cup Champion in 1951 and 1961.

In 1949 and 1950 he was the Adelaide Golden Helmet Winner.

In 1988 he was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, in 2008 the Australian Speedway Hall of Fame and in 2014 the Motorcycle South Australia Hall of Fame.
