Gillian Rolton AM

EQUESTRIAN

Inducted in 2010 Elevated to Legend in 2016

Gillian was given her first horse at the age of 10 and thus began an illustrious career in equestrian eventing.

With Gold from the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games, and a number of Australian Championships to her credit, Gillian Rolton is one of Australia’s greatest riders and the first Australian woman’s medallist in equestrian.

Her inclusion in the 1992 team was third time lucky after missing out on team places at LA and Seoul, due to injury.

She returned to the Olympic Games in 1996 with her beloved Peppermint Grove to again be a part of the Gold Medal Team, not withstanding a broken collarbone and ribs.

She was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2000.
