Dr Brian Sando OAM

Brian Sando was one the most experienced and decorated sports doctors in Australia. He has been Medical Officer to seven Australian Olympic Teams, four as Senior Medical Director, and similarly for three Commonwealth Games Teams.

He held the same position at the Adelaide Football Club from 1991 to 2008 and has been Official Doctor to Australia’s Davis Cup, track and field and swimming teams.

His integral part in Australian sport has included the fight against drugs in sport, holding senior positions at the Australian Sports Drug Agency and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority.

He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1995 for his services to Sports Medicine and inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2001.
