David Gould OAM is a distinguished Australian wheelchair basketball player and coach with a career spanning over 35 years. He represented Australia in five Paralympic Games from 1984 to 2000 and five World Championships, achieving notable success as co-captain of the Australian Rollers, who won their first gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympics. Gould was a standout player, earning top point scorer honors at the 1988 Seoul Paralympics and being named to the World “All Star Five” Team in 1994.

He played a crucial role in South Australia’s success in national championships and was instrumental in the Adelaide Thunder’s multiple National Wheelchair League titles.After retiring as a player, Gould transitioned to coaching, serving as assistant coach for the Australian Gliders at the 2012 London Paralympics and later leading various national teams.

His contributions to the sport have been recognized with the Order of Australia Medal in 1997 and the Australian Sports Medal in 2000.
