Lindsay Head MBE

A legend of Australian Rules football, Lindsay’s career with West Torrens spanned from 1952 to 1970, where he played 327 games and kicked 455 goals. Renowned for his skill, balance, and leadership, he won three Magarey Medals (1955, 1958, 1963) and captained both his club and South Australia.

Lindsay also played a pivotal role in South Australia’s historic 1963 win over Victoria, a moment that remains one of the most celebrated in the state’s football history. His impact on the game extended far beyond the field, remembered for his sportsmanship, humility, and enduring contributions to South Australian football.
