Provide First Aid - HLTAID003

Sport SA delivers a First Aid course designed for the sporting industry. The course is contextualised to our industry and provides scenarios and practical activities that relate to sport so that when the need arises you are confident and qualified to respond to situations within your sporting organisation or club.

Our first aid courses require all students to complete a pre-course assessment before attending your course.  During the course you will be required to complete a theory test and a practical demonstration.

All our courses are held at Sport SA's Industry Training Centre, Military Road, West Beach (opposite the Adelaide Shores Caravan Park).  If your organisation wishes to hold a first aid course at either your venue or ours, please click here.

The cost of the course is $110.

Pool Life Guard Course

Aquatic Technical Pool & Spa Operations Training Course - Aquatics Information Australia

Sport SA in partnership delivers industry specific training courses for public swimming pool and spa pool operators around Australia.

All courses are designed to provide the knowledge and skills required to professionally operate and maintain public aquatic facilities, as well as meet the requirements of the DHS in all states.

Initially, participants will enrol with Aquatics Information to obtain the internationally recognised Certified Pool Operator (CPO®) certification issued by the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF®). On successful completion of the CPO course, participants may choose to register for an extra workbook, which will need to be completed within 60 days of obtaining the CPO certiifcation. On successful completion of that workbook, they will then be issued a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment through Sport SA for the following 4 modules.

  • SISCAQU001 - Test pool water quality
  • SISCAQU003 - Maintain aquatic facility plant and equipment
  • SISCAQU004 - Develop and implement pool water maintenance procedures
  • SISXWHS101 - Follow work health and safety policies

The course includes a comprehensive training manual and set of resource materials.

Horse Safety Australia


Sport SA has partnered with Horse Safety Australia to run clinics which assess the skills involved in teaching horsemanship to others.

Horse Safety Australia Inc. -formerly the Association for Horsemanship Safety and Education in Australia Inc. (AHSE) was formed to foster higher standards of safety within the horse industry, particularly relating to teaching horse riding to groups of beginners. Since then Horse Safety Australia has accredited over 1800 instructors in Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, WA and South Australia.

Upon completion of the course, student will receive a Horse Safety Australia qualification as an instructor and a statement of attainment from Sport SA for equine units within the SIS10 Sport Fitness and Recreation Training Package. These clusters of units are industry agreed competencies as a minimum standard.
